Howdy, I’m Nat.
I was a creative genius from a very young age. For context, I doodled a lot back then, specifically eyeballs. In 3rd grade I had a classmate who incessantly got caught sleeping in class. I took it upon myself to form a proactive brief to help the kid out. A pro-bono assignment, if you will. My breakthrough work titled: Catch Z’s If You Please. I grabbed my permanent marker, and I put pen to paper (marker to eyelid) for the first time, and man it felt good. Yes, I drew eyeballs on my friend Cory’s eye lids with a sharpie. From Lisa Frank notebook to real skin, baby. My work was out in the world. The low-budget stunt gained heaps of buzz. Sleepy kids everywhere were hitting me up. The KPIs racked in 20 extra minutes of gained snooze time per student. As a result, there were culture shifting headlines, “Students No Longer Allowed Permanent Markers”. - East Millsboro Elementary Parent Newsletter. The principal was talking about it, the parents — my art teacher even gave me a high-five. That’s when I knew, I was gonna make it big time.
If you managed to make it this far, you can sure betcha I’ve still got my permanent markers. My notepads are chocked full of eyeball doodles. And somehow, I’ve even learned to improve my KPIs.
